New Song! I Carry YouPosted in Lindsay White's Blog on November 21, 2011 by LIndsay White
Here's a new song..haven't written in a while. This song is about how we carry grief with us in a strange way. We almost become friends with it. I told my therapist that sometimes I look back at the past few years and it's like looking down a long hallway full of rubble. I'm so glad that I have taken such crucial steps to become my most authentic self because I have found such comfort and happiness in my life, career, relationships, etc. But there's a part of me that is still devastated by the destruction. Knowing I've broken the hearts of people I love is painful. And even though I've forgiven myself, I can never completely let go of that grief because it would be like losing those relationships once and for all. So I just carry it with me wherever I go. Grief: a really sick way of keeping hope alive. |
