asking you to think of me sounds so absurd girl i could never work up the nerve your lightning smiles and thunder eyes are elements i crave but i could never bring myself to brave cooked up some big plans for you and i they’re burning up like a pie in the sky we're not getting anywhere but goodbye once smitten i’m twice shy i could be the one to give love like you deserve but honey i could never work up the nerve dreams of us superfluous in this reality being conscious of you made a coward of me

i asked how much do you love me, like new lovers do you said it's hard to quantify i said the universe is expanding, isn't that cool you said my darling i know why did you ever wonder what the universe is expanding into it's trying to catch up it's trying to keep up with my love for you it's an ongoing chase, surpassing time and space it can never be undone my love for you will outrun the universe i asked how long will you wait there, cause i need time you said i been waiting my whole life and i don't mind i said that time's unkind it has not been on my side you said you were and erased the finish line
it’s raining here in Oregon, springtime blossoms soak it in
just like me, my paper, petals, my pen, of course, the stem and the bridges i keep crossing they support and transfer weight over sleepy riverbeds of time their paths comprise my fate oregon is in my body now i’ll never be the same her skies moisturize my skin her rains cleans my brain her trees have brought me to my knees in gratitude and prayer oregon is in my body now wherever i am she’ll always be there easygoing attitudes in corner pubs and cafes i relax and tap my toes to the music that she plays her people so considerate, her careful care surrounds me leaves me wanting to improve, leaves me better than she found me

the first thing that i notice is the sunshine on her face which leads me to her freckles looking like they're playing chase her strong jawline, her lips to her eyes which leads me to her midnight hair blowing through the sky oh my, oh my, i feel sorry for the light cause if her face is in the picture, nothing else catches my sight oh my, oh my i could spend the whole day smiling at this silly photograph and the lengths she'll leap to for a little laugh the frames can't tame her spirit's range, which explains why i feel that her beauty can be captured but not caught dead standing still oh my, oh my, this love is black and white we know what to expect cause we've got the right effect oh my, oh my pressing flowers inside books, making melodies and hooks reading pointless stories in bed frisbee, jeopardy, laughing so damn hard you pee these are the photographs flipping through my head oh my, oh my, strolling the lane made up of time P-I-C-T-U-R-Easily the best memory oh my
